S.S. City of Rangoon

6,633 tons
Official Number 135582; AKA Oscar III

The City of Rangoon was built in 1914 and sailed for the Hall Line, one of several companies operated by the Ellerman Line. The National Archives at Kew preserves two lists of passengers disembarking from this ship at London and these record her sailing from Yokohama via Shanghai and Singapore in 1915 and sailing from Rangoon in 1928. She was sold to the Ministry of War Transport in 1945 and renamed Oscar III. The Scottish Maritime Museum owns a photograph of the ship (Scran ID: 000-000-530-402-C).
