S.S. Welshman

5,728 tons
Official number 97862

The Welshman was built in 1891 for the White Star Line as the Tauric and was sold to the Dominion Line in 1903 and renamed the following year. She came to the aid of the Furness Liner Snowdon Range in January 1913 and towed her to Milford Haven. The Snowdon Range had encountered hurricane force winds in the Atlantic and was 50 days overdue when Welshman took her in tow despite very heavy seas. In 1921 Welshman was transferred to the Leyland Line and in 1926 she was scrapped.
